Points

Q. What do I get points for?
A. The point system is going to go through lots of changes over the coming months, but the more you ski and the more you add info to the site, the more points you'll get. At the moment You can get points for four things...
  • 1 point per day skiing or boarding (max 20 points per resort)
  • 1 point for each upvote on a link you add (and 1 point deducted for every downvote).
  • 5 points for writing a description of a resort
  • 1 point for an approved update to a piece of resort information (summit height, number of lifts, etc)

Resorts

Q. I've visited a resort you don't know about. How can I record a visit against it?
A. Just record your visit as normal. If the resort is in the US we'll get a notification and add it. If not, it will still count against your number of days and show in your profile as normal.
Q. Your details for a resort are incorrect. Do you want to correct them?
A. We'd love to. Contact us with what we've got wrong.

Q. How do I add pictures to my profile page?
A. Three easy steps...
1. Add your Flickr Photostream Id to your SnowWhereToGo profile.
2. Check the "Flickr Profile Photos" checkbox.
3. Tag your photos in Flickr with the tag swtg:profile
Q. How do I add photos directly to a visit?
A. Three easy steps...
1. Add your Flickr Photostream Id to your SnowWhereToGo profile.
2. When you create or edit your visit, check the "Flickr Photos?" checkbox
3. Tag your photos in Flickr with the tag you see on the visit details page. It will look something like swtg:visit=xyz.
Q. What is my Flickr Photostream id?
A. Log into Flickr and go to your photostream. The URL of the page is of the form http://www.flickr.com/photos/xxxxxx. xxxxxx is your photostream id.
Q. Photos aren't appearing in my profile. Why?
A. Check your photostream id is correct - the link in your profile should take you to your Flickr photostream page. Check you have tagged some of your photos in Flickr with swtg:profile.

A. There are two ways. On the resort page select that you've been and liked it or been and didn't like it. The second way is to record a visit against a resort.
